Being experienced software developer myself, I find this kind negligence totally unacceptable. I have a home wireless network, like most people do today, and I have to forward some ports to be able to connect to game servers online. I'm a big fan of the Call Of Duty franchise, but I've been totally frustrated with inability to make online play to consistently perform. I've googled for answers and found different lists of ports at few places. The problem is, nowhere in the game documentation the required ports are mentioned. I was also not able to find any answer to that question on the developer's web site. I still get stuck at "Downloading game settings." screen, after being able to connect only ONCE. If you think 5 hours of single player play is worth $60, go ahead and buy this game.
The only game I would rank higher is Farcry2. I would put it on a level with MW2.I only wish it had a full split-screen co-op campaign mode.
Fantastic game with incredible multiplayer. (some would dispute that but this is my review after all)Call of Duty 4 has an excellent single player experience as well.Keep in mind this IS a violent game. The replayability factor was unparralelled at release. The follow up game Modern Warfare 2 is even better for multiplayer. There is blood and plenty of it. If that's not a problem for you then you will NOT be disappointed with this game.
Great game and excellent shipping. A must have. Can't wait to buy Modern Warfare 2.
This Video game and it guide book are great for the price and value. I will recommend it to action fans out there with PS3 and XBOX 360.
